Echelon: Cinematic Synths & FX Finds a New Home at The Foundry
The FoundryBefore The Foundry had a name, there was Echelon.
We originally released Echelon: Cinematic Synths & FX last year as a collection of cinematic synth presets, textures, and effects built for trailers, film, games, and modern music production.
Now, Echelon has officially been rebranded under The Foundry by Rareform Audio.
The collection remains focused on the same thing it was built for from the beginning: bold, production-ready electronic sounds made for composers and producers who need cinematic sounds that can hold their own in a mix.
Here’s what’s inside.
127 Custom Serum Presets
At the center of Echelon is the Synth Suite, featuring 127 custom presets compatible with Serum 1 and Serum 2.
The collection covers a wide range of sounds, including arps, braams, deep hits, downers, glitch FX, leads, pads, pings, pulses, risers, signals, signatures, squeals, sub drops, and textures.
Rather than approaching Echelon as a general synth preset collection, the sounds were created around cinematic production.
That means pulses designed to add movement, basses that can bring weight into a track, evolving textures for atmosphere, and more aggressive electronic sounds for moments that need extra impact.
The presets are ready to use as starting points, but because the original Serum patches are included, they can also be pushed, processed, and reshaped to fit a production.
127 Matching WAV Renders
Every Serum preset also comes with a matching WAV render.
This gives you two ways to work with the same material.
Open the Serum preset when you want full control over the sound, or pull the WAV directly into your session when you want to work quickly with audio.
The WAV versions also make it easy to chop, stretch, reverse, pitch, layer, and process the sounds without needing to open a synth.
It also means the core sounds in Echelon aren't limited to Serum users.
Trailer Fundamentals Kit
Echelon also includes the Trailer Fundamentals Kit, a focused collection of 21 cinematic hits, risers, and whooshes.
These cover some of the basic building blocks that show up constantly in trailer and cinematic production.
Whether you're creating transitions, building into a new section, reinforcing an edit, or adding impact to a moment, the Fundamentals Kit gives you a compact set of sounds ready to drop into a session.
275 Sounds in Total
Between the Serum presets, matching WAV renders, and Trailer Fundamentals Kit, Echelon: Cinematic Synths & FX includes 275 production-ready sounds.
That breaks down to:
- 127 Serum presets
- 127 matching WAV renders
- 21 cinematic hits, risers, and whooshes
The result is a collection that can move between synth programming and straightforward audio workflows depending on how you prefer to work.
From Echelon to The Foundry
When Echelon first launched last year, The Foundry didn't exist yet.
But the idea behind it was already there.
The Foundry is now Rareform Audio’s home for instruments, sample libraries, presets, and creative production tools, built for composers and producers working across film, trailers, television, advertising, games, and records.
Bringing Echelon under The Foundry gives the collection a proper home alongside the new tools we’re continuing to develop.
It also makes Echelon part of a larger product line.
The Echelon Series now includes Cinematic Synths & FX alongside Echelon: Drum Hits, our Kontakt instrument focused on aggressive trailer drums, toms, stomps, claps, and cinematic impacts.
Different tools, same general idea: useful sounds built around the demands of modern cinematic production.
